At AGIF El Camino Real Forum, our mission is to provide essential services and support to individuals and families in need. We strive to empower those we serve to achieve self-sufficiency and improve their overall quality of life.
Founded in 1995, AGIF El Camino Real Forum has been serving our community for over 25 years. We have grown and adapted over the years to meet the changing needs of our community, while remaining true to our core values of compassion, respect, and integrity.
We offer a wide range of programs and services to support individuals and families in need. From food assistance to job training, we are committed to helping those we serve achieve their goals and improve their lives.
The El Camino Real Chapter has recently joined the Whittier Area Chamber of Commerce. Our goal is to bring awareness of the veteran community and to gain the support of small business and corporate citizens.
Our education committee has partnered with Hispanic Outreach Taskforce (HOT), Whittier Union High School District, Whittier College Veterans, and The Eugene A. Obregon Medal of Honor Foundation.
Our El Camino Real Chapter has established relationships with high school veteran monument groups and non-veteran support groups that stand with our advocacy to "Save the National Home". Our struggle to protect the veteran National Home and entitlements, has connected us with most Veteran Service Organizations and others including the NAACP. This has helped our advocacy gain momentum. El Camino Real Chapter will continue the good fight!
Commander Jake Alarid helped create the El Camino chapter of American GI Forum to serve the Whittier area and later was national commander for the American GI Forum in 1983-1984, and 1994-1998.
American GI Forum was founded in 1948 as a veteran's organization in Corpus Christi, Texas, to address the problems of discrimination and inequities endured by Latino veterans after World War II
“He was totally dedicated to serving the veterans,” Duardo said.
Help us make a difference in the lives of those in need and Save the Soldiers Home. Your donation goes directly towards our programs and services.
